Hmm.. Perhaps next time you could try making your pictures without a flash but with the macro feature of your cam? I think, this will give a more detailed picture in the end. Just a suggestion.

The lighting in my living room is pretty dim. The flash washed out flesh tone. The model hasn't been detailed yet. If you look close you can see the ankles aren't painted yet.

Maybe do it in a room with more light? Or outside when the sun is not to bright?
